NORMAL, Ill. – After matching Illinois State's single-season pitching appearances record this spring, Jack Landwehr deserved a break.
But after taking a month off, Landwehr is back on the mound and in the same stellar form he displayed during the 2016 collegiate season.
In eight appearances for the Lakeshore Chinooks of the Northwoods League, Landwehr is 1-1 with two saves, a 2.45 ERA and a 0.64 WHIP over 11 innings of work. He has struck out seven and walked just one batter.
Landwehr's summer success comes following a breakout collegiate campaign this spring, as he posted a 4-3 record and a team-leading 2.
