CHICAGO – Despite out-scoring Loyola 42-36 in the second half, the Illinois State Redbirds could not fully overcome a 20-point halftime deficit, falling 78-64 on Wednesday night in MVC action.
Antonio Reeves recorded his 13th 20-point game of the season with 20 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field, while making all four of his free throw tries. Reeves now has 997 career points, three points away from becoming the 46th member of Illinois State's 1,000-point club. Reeves and Josiah Strong each grabbed game-high-tying three steals, as Strong added 13 points, making half of his eight shots from the field and half of his six three-point tries.
