PEORIA – The score was tied at 51 midway through the second half. Shots had been hard to come by for BU guard Nate Kennell.
But this one wasn’t. Elijah Childs skipped a pass in the left corner to a wide-open Kennell. He didn’t miss and Bradley would not give up the lead again, beating Indiana State 72-61 with a 21-10 finish.
“I wasn’t able to get many open 3s, but my teammates were able to find me,” Kennell said. “It gave us a lift, for sure.”
The win, coming on a snowy night before a paid crowd of 5,023 at Carver Arena, left the Braves (17-9) alone in fourth place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings at 8-5.
