PEORIA, IL – Southern Illinois scored five runs in the first three innings and then held off a Bradley baseball rally in a 5-4 victory at Dozer Park on Friday night. The Braves are now 9-13 on the season and 3-5 in Missouri Valley Conference action, while the Salukis improve to 25-6 and 5-4 versus league foes.
Southern Illinois started the game strong and scored five runs in the first three frames to take control. The Salukis plated three in the first off a two-run home run before scoring another with a two-out single. SIU then added one in both the second and third innings for the 5-0 advantage.
