CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Bradley Softball erased a 6-0 deficit with a six-run bottom of the sixth as the Braves went to extra innings for the first time this season, but Purdue Fort Wayne pushed three runs across in the top of the eighth to win 9-6 in the opening game of the Governors Classic Friday.
Fort Wayne pitchers held Bradley (11-8 overall) to just five hits and the Mastodons were able to take advantage of three BU errors. Playing in her home state for the first time as a Braves, Cookeville, Tenn., native Morgan Radford took the loss for Bradley despite a season-high 13 strikeouts.
