CARBONDALE, Ill. – Lucy Mead went 2-for-2 with a run scored and the duo of Taise Thompson and Avry Blume each drove in runs for Bradley Softball, but preseason MVC favorite Southern Illinois used a four-run third to blow open the game as the Salukis completed the series sweep with a 10-2 victory over the Braves Sunday afternoon at Charlotte West Stadium.
Southern Illinois (23-5 overall, 5-3 MVC) wasted no time getting on the board, pushing a pair of runs across in the bottom of the first. The Salukis had runners at second and third with one out for Jenny Jansen, who drove in the first run of the contest with a sacrifice fly.
