LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Sophomore Lucy Mead and junior Stacia Seeton both homered, but tournament-host New Mexico State answered with five homers of its own to top Bradley Softball 13-4 Friday to wrap up the first day of the Troy Cox Classic.
Seeton's homer was the 22nd of her career, moving her into sole possession of third place in Bradley history, while Mead collected her seventh career dinger in the loss, which dropped the Braves to 1-1 on the year.
A leadoff walk in the bottom of the second proved costly for freshman Morgan Radford, who made her first start in the circle as a Brave.
