(McFarland, Wis./McFarland) ran a season-best time in the 5,000 meters to highlight action for the Bradley women’s track & field team at the Gibson Invitational Friday afternoon.
Smits posted a time of 17:52.24 to finish ninth in the only event for the Braves on the opening day of Indiana State’s Gibson Invitational. She clocked the second fastest 5,000 meter time on the team this season. Joining Smits in the field was sophomore Hannah Witczak (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection), who placed 15th overall at 18:10.34.
The Bradley men’s and women’s track & field teams are scheduled to resume competition at the Gibson Invitational Saturday at 10 a.
