RIVER FOREST, Ill.-- The 2024-25 season officially began for Illinois State on Friday at the River Forest Collegiate Tennis Invitational, as one Redbird advanced to the finals in singles competition and one pair qualified for the final doubles flight. Both singles and doubles championship flights will resume play tomorrow at River Forest Park and Oak Park Tennis Center.
The day began with one round of doubles play, with the Redbirds picking up a win in the No.1 Draw doubles bracket courtesy of a 6-2 decision after Tomas Valencia and Caden Scarlett defeated Jona Gitschel and Matteo Iaquinto of DePaul University.
