JACKSONVILLE, Nev. – The Illinois State women's golf team capped play in the first day of the Sea Best Intercollegiate in a big way, topping the school record for lowest single-round in program history, and the Birds head into the final 18 holes tied with Florida for the top spot in the field.
The 279 is two strokes better than the previous single-round, set during the fall season on September 8 and October 22.
The Redbirds' two-round 569 is tied with Florida for the top spot in the field on the team side, with third place (South Alabama) sitting seven strokes behind.
