NORMAL — The Illinois State women's basketball team managed to rebound quite competitively against much taller Northern Iowa on Sunday at Redbird Arena.
The Redbirds' shooting difficulties, however, were far too severe to rebound from.
ISU suffered through extended offensive slumps in each half during a 61-35 Missouri Valley Conference loss to Northern Iowa before a crowd of 362.
"We just missed shots, missed layups, shots we work on. We could not buy a basket," Redbirds' coach Barb Smith said. "We did a good job on the boards, especially the offensive boards. But it wasn't enough.
