Shockers senior Fred VanVleet a role model for Braves freshman guard Antoine Pittman

  • PEORIA — As if playing at home against a national program like Wichita State isn’t thrilling enough for Bradley’s young men’s basketball team at 1 p.m. Sunday at Carver Arena, the day takes on added significance for BU freshman Antoine Pittman.
    The 6-foot-1 guard will match up vs. his hometown role model, WSU all-American senior guard Fred VanVleet, who played with and mentored Pittman with the Rockford-based PrimeTime AAU program as well as at Rockford Auburn High School.
    “I’m very excited to play against him on this stage,” Pittman said Saturday following Bradley’s practice.
