SHELBYVILLE — Shelbyville High School senior Malcolm Miller had been waiting for a long time for Thursday as he made it official that he will attend and continue his basketball career at Illinois State as a preferred walk-on.
"It definitely feels great," said Miller, a 6-foot-4 guard, "To have the opportunity to go to a place like Illinois State is amazing."
Miller finished his four years at Shelbyville as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,397 points, which ranks 41st in the history of Illinois high school basketball.
"What separated me was that Illinois State was my end goal and that is where I wanted to be," said Miller.
