ST. LOUIS – Combining a game-winning goal with his efforts in Bradley's 1-0 win Saturday against SIU Edwardsville, Braves freshman Jake Schoffstall (Palatine, IL/William Fremd HS) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Schoffstall played the full 90 minutes as an anchor to a back line that limited SIUE to just one, non-threatening shot on goal and he headed home the game's lone tally in the 77th minute, leading the Braves to the 1-0 MVC home win against the Cougars Saturday night at Shea Stadium.
