RIO VERDE, Ariz. – Led by an even-par effort from senior Morgan Savage, the Illinois State women's golf team closes the first of three rounds at the Rio Verde Invitational in 14th place in a crowded 18-team field.
Savage's round has her tied for third place individually in the field, and a stroke out of first place in the individual standings. Tatum King, playing as an individual, is also in the top-20 overall, tied for 15th after the first day of the tournament.
As a team Illinois State carded a round of 316, ahead of Bradley (318), Bowling Green (318), Ohio (321), and Central Michigan.
