PEORIA — Chicago State has long been Bradley’s Washington Generals opponent.
Entering Saturday’s matchup at Carver Arena, Bradley had piled up a 16-0 record against the Cougars since Bradley began the series with a lopsided 61-point shellacking at Robertson Field House in 1971.
The past two seasons, the Braves clobbered Chicago State by 35 and 26 points, respectively.
But even though the South Side school had begun this season 0-7, there were grave concerns in Bradley coach Brian Wardle’s mind.
His team was playing its fourth game in seven days, which included back-to-back slugfests during its Cancun championship run and the long flights to and from there.
