A few months ago, Jayden Hodgson believed his future was as a professional basketball player in his native Australia.
The Sydney native was considered one of his country’s brightest young stars and was selected last year to the Under-17 National Team that competed at the World Championships in Dubai. Then he was chosen as one of a dozen top prospects to attend the Centre of Excellence academy.
While he didn’t make the Under-19 team, the 6-foot-1 point guard — who reminds some observers of a young Steve Nash who can both score and run a team — would then receive the huge honor of being picked as a developmental player for the Sydney Kings pro club in the National Basketball League.
