SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Illinois State women's tennis team swept Savannah State, 7-0, to pick up its eighth win of the season Tuesday afternoon at the Tiger Tennis Courts.
ISU jumped out to an early lead after sweeping doubles play to win the doubles point. The undefeated Redbird duo of Marcia Tere-Apisah and Veronika Golanova earned their fifth No. 1 doubles victory when they took down Savannah State's Elizabeth Geronimo and Rachida Kateb, 6-3. Freshman Jana Kustkova and senior Sarah Paulson picked up their second victory as a doubles team, by defeating Jennyfer Vivas and Bria Burrow of Savannah State, 6-2.
