Redbirds Split Double-Header

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Illinois State split its double-header Wednesday, beating Bethune-Cookman, 6-1, after falling to Appalachian State, 4-0, Wednesday.

"We definitely handled the weather better tonight," said head coach Mark Klysner. "The guys played a lot smarter tennis and it showed in how we constructed points. It was nice to get a win, but more importantly it was nice to see the guys get a little more acclimated to match play outdoors. Tomorrow we play a strong Stetson team, but I think we'll be more prepared to play."

In ISU's win over Bethune-Cookman, Illinois State started the match off by winning the doubles point, as Andreas Boers and Jakub Eisner defeated Alexander Chepik and Greg Almeida, 7-6.
