ST. LOUIS – After a disappointing setback on Saturday at Austin Peay, the Illinois State women's tennis team got back to its winning ways on Sunday as the Redbirds rolled to a 9-0 sweep over WashU at the Tao Tennis Center.
It was a clean sweep for the Redbirds in the doubles matches, as the teams played 8-game pro sets to decide the outcome. The No. 1 team of Tara Damnjanovic and Tijana Zlatanovic defeated Eliana Hanna and Amber Edmonds by a score of 8-6 and the No. 2 team of Alexandra Abyasova and Silvia Pomarolli bested the team of Hallie Jeffers and Katherine Johnson by a final of 8-4.
