NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State used a 22-point, 5-steal effort from freshman DJ Horne as the Redbirds overcame a 15-point first-half deficit to top the UNI Panthers, who were receiving votes in the most recent AP Top-25 poll.
How it Happened
For Illinois State (6-7, 1-0 MVC) the first half started with a Horne three-pointer that put the hosts ahead by one, and a three-pointer by Antonio Reeves knotted the score at six points apiece with 14:30 to play in the half. UNI (11-2, 0-1 MVC) followed by scoring the next 14 points and pushed its lead to as many as 15 at 23-8 with 8:36 to play in the opening 20 minutes.
