NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State women's basketball remain undefeated on Doug Collins Court, after capturing a 61-52 victory over Maryville.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Redbirds were off to a slow start and the Saints took advantage, pulling a 16-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. Maryville opened with a 5-0 run with Mary Barton leading the way. The junior guard was perfect from beyond the arc, going 2-for-2 leading all scorers with six points at the end of the first period.
Illinois State rallied back in the second quarter and outscored the Saints 21-10 to finish the first half ahead 33-26.
