BATON ROUGE, La. – The Illinois State softball team (7-12) played its fourth-consecutive extra-inning game against nationally-ranked McNeese State (16-4), coming up just short against the Cowgirls before taking down the Purdue Boilermakers (2-14).
Game One:
Junior Shannon Felde got the starting call in the circle for the Redbirds against No. 23 McNeese State in game one of Illinois State's doubleheader, as she registered her first strikeout of the game in the top of the first. At the plate, the utility player led off for the Redbirds in the first with an issued walk.
