For the second time this season the Illinois State Redbirds fell victim to a half-court buzzer beater, this one giving host Missouri State a 66-65 win on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened
The Redbirds jumped on the board quickly with a Zach Copeland three-pointer on the first possession of the game; however, Missouri State responded with a run and took a four-point lead at 14-10 with 12:36 to play in the first half. Over the next five-plus minutes the ISU defense tightened, helping hold Missouri State scoreless while scoring 10 points of their own, pushing out to a six-point, 20-14 lead.
