EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois State women's soccer team was topped, 4-2, in an exhibition match at SIUE that featured five goals in the first 43:01 of play on Wednesday at Ralph Korte Stadium.
Seniors Natalie Vaughn-Low and Logan Ziegler each scored for the Redbirds in their final official exhibition match before opening the season on August 19 at Eastern Michigan.
SIUE scored in the ninth and 18th minutes before Vaughn-Low's goal, just 1:24 late, cut the deficit in half.
The Cougars extended their lead back out to two goals in the 39th minute but Ziegler was able to bring the Redbirds back within one goal at the 43:01 mark.
