A 37-3 loss to North Dakota State sent the Illinois State football team downward in the national FCS rankings announced Monday.
The 3-2 Redbirds slipped four spots to 14th in the STATS poll and seven rungs to 13th in the American Football Coaches Association rankings.
A win over Youngstown State helped Northern Iowa move from 13th to 10th in both lists. The loss dropped the Penguins one place to 19th in the STATS poll while they stayed at No. 17 according to the AFCA.
