NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State senior Zach Copeland had his second consecutive strong game with 17 points; however, the Redbirds made just 19-of-51 shots from the field, falling to the Loyola Ramblers by a 62-50 final score.
How it Happened
Illinois State struck first with the first of five three-pointers from Copeland, and the Redbirds held Loyola off the scoreboard for nearly four minutes to start the game. The Redbird lead grew to as many as four points at 24-20 with 4:23 to play in the opening half before the ISU offense went cold and couldn't score again over the remainder of the first period while the Ramblers scored the final eight points to take a 28-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.
