WEST POINT, N.Y. – After a long doubleheader day of matches yesterday, Illinois State wrapped up the Arthur Ashe Invite on Sunday against host Army, to narrowly defeated the Redbirds 4-3 to pick up the win.
"We did not play our best tennis today, as we looked a little tired after a heartbreaker last night but credit to Army for pulling out the win," ISU head coach Mark Klysner said. "We let the doubles point slip away two days in a row, which ultimately cost us the match wins."
After Army took the doubles point, ISU fought right back to tie up the match.
