INDIANAPOLIS – Playing shorthanded in singles, Illinois State nearly came out on top of Butler in Sunday morning's match but the Redbirds could not come from behind as the Bulldogs picked up a 5-2 win at the Butler Bubble.
"Tough loss today, but what a match overall," ISU head coach Mark Klysner said. "We again played some really good doubles and let a lead slip away at one but should have won that point. In singles, we were short two usual starters to injury and so that never makes things easy but a credit to the guys for stepping up and we almost pulled out the win regardless.
