NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State soccer team (13-5-2, 6-0-1 MVC) defeated Indiana State (7-11-2, 2-4-1) 1-0 in overtime of the semifinal match of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Friday night at Adelaide Street Field. The win ties the 2016 Redbirds for the longest unbeaten streak in program history. The 2013 team also had a 13-game unbeaten streak in their run to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
"They did a lot of things to make it difficult for us to score, they played with basically 11 players behind the ball. Credit goes to them, I thought they were very well organized and they defended very well as a team," head coach Eric Golz said.
