MUNCIE, Ind. – Illinois State improved two places and 11 strokes between rounds, and sit in 12th place at the Ball State Cardinal Classic, held at the par-72, 6,204-yard Players Club Golf Course.
The team's two-round score is 623 (317-306). Indianapolis is leading the field with a two-round score of 2-under-par 574 (292-282).
Leading the Redbirds is senior Caitlin Sims. Sims carded a 6-over-par 150 (76-74), catching two birdies on the back nine in round one, and one on hole 17 in the second round. The senior remains in a 12th place tie heading into the third round.
