NORMAL — Knowing full well it was Monday, Illinois State football coach Brock Spack bellowed “Competition Tuesday,” summoning Redbirds from all corners of Hancock Stadium for a series of plays matching ISU’s top offensive players against their defensive counterparts.
Monday is Tuesday for the Redbirds this week because Friday is Saturday.
In other words, ISU has made several scheduling adjustments because its quarterfinal-round FCS playoff game against Richmond is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday at Hancock Stadium instead of the customary Saturday kickoff.
“We had to move things up a day earlier,” Spack said. “It’s a difficult time because of finals.
