NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball team reached a milestone at its 12th annual blood drive on Dec. 9, as the 35 units of blood collected pushed the Redbirds over 500 total units collected in the history of the blood drive.
The blood drive, run in conjunction with the American Red Cross, is one of the Illinois State baseball team's top community projects each year.
"With a goal of 31 units to reach a total of 500 over 12 blood drives, I am happy to report that we surpassed our goal," Illinois State head coach Bo Durkac said.
