NORMAL – Illinois State football is back in the FCS playoffs for the first time since 2019.
With a 9-3 record, the Redbirds were confident they would receive an at-large bid and Sunday’s bracket announcement revealed they will play Southeast Missouri on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Houck Field in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in a first round matchup.
“We’re back. It’s very satisfying,” ISU coach Brock Spack said. “It took a little longer than I hoped.”
