NORMAL — Expressing gratitude for the trust placed in her, Jeri Beggs is ready to make history as Illinois State's first female director of athletics.
Beggs was formally introduced as the new head of ISU athletics Tuesday at Hancock Stadium after the announcement of the removal of her interim status in the position last week.
A crowd of family, ISU coaches, Redbird athletes and supporters welcomed Beggs at Hancock's Aaron Leetch Club room.
"I am proud and humbled to be the 13th athletics director at ISU," Beggs said.
