TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Trailing 5-2 heading to the seventh, Bradley Softball scored a pair of runs to make it a one-run game and loaded the bases with only one out, but Indiana State escaped with a 5-4 victory Monday to take the series from the Braves.
Bradley (14-15 overall, 2-4 MVC) made it a one-run game with two runs in the seventh inning, before Indiana State's Cassi Newbanks got a pair of outs with the bases loaded to close out the 5-4 victory for the Sycamores (16-12 overall, 4-2 MVC).
Senior Lucy Mead helped spark the seventh inning rally with a leadoff triple and eventually came home on a sacrifice fly by freshman Addie Welsh to cut the Indiana State advantage to 5-3.
