EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Illinois State women's basketball team will face Southern Illinois for the second time in less than a week Thursday at the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
What stands out for ISU coach Kristen Gillespie is not her team's recent 99-86 win over Southern Illinois in Carbondale, it's the 54 points the Redbirds gave up in the second half.
"We have to have a little more urgency and attention to detail at the defensive end," Gillespie said of a 2:30 p.m. matchup at Ford Center. "We got really complacent in the second half. Allowing them to score 54 is unacceptable.
