EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Illinois State hit just 8 of 25 second-half shots in a 69-51 Missouri Valley Conference basketball loss to Evansville on Wednesday at Ford Center.
ISU finished at 34.6 percent from the field overall while dropping to 10-6 overall and 2-3 in the MVC.
The Redbirds trailed 34-30 at halftime while converting just 4 of 10 free throws.
Evansville (6-10, 3-2 MVC) widened its lead to 49-35 with a 10-0 second-half spurt as ISU went nearly five and a half minutes without scoring.
