PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior runner Patrick Campbell (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wauwatosa) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after winning the men’s 3,000 meters at the season-opening Illini Classic Saturday.
Campbell took top honors in the men’s 3,000 meters by almost four seconds, crossing the line with a career-best time of 8:24.48 to improve his career-best time by seven seconds. His time now ranks fifth in school history. A political science major, Campbell owns a 3.80 cumulative grade point average.
