PEORIA — The Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (CityLink) will no longer offer its Park & Ride service to Bradley men’s basketball games at Carver Arena, apparently due to a recent change in Federal Transit Administration policy.
“It was something we were glad to be able to do,” CityLink marketing director Emily Watson said. “But (the FTA) told us we’re not a charter service, we’re a transportation service. They’re saying we’re taking away business from charter services. When it’s all said and done, we didn’t want to lose our FTA funding.”
For a number of years, the Park & Ride bus has picked up fans at locations such as Evergreen Square or Junction City and dropped them at the front door of the Civic Center for $1 per ride or 50 cents for seniors, students and disabled veterans.
