NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State outside hitter Tamara Otene registered a career night in the Redbirds' five-set loss (21-25, 25-14, 21-25, 25-15, 12-15) to Indiana State, nailing a match-high and lifetime best 26 kills against the Sycamores. With the loss, the Redbirds' eight-match winning streak comes to an end as the team falls to 15-12 overall and 11-4 in Missouri Valley Conference play. Indiana State improves to 14-10 overall and 6-8 in league play.
Despite a slow start to set one with only four kills, Otene led all student-athletes in sets two, three and four with six, six and eight in the middle sets of the match.
