NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State softball standout Emme Olson has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Softball First-Team as announced by the organization on Thursday. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Olson boasts an impressive 3.95 cumulative GPA in her Masters of Professional Accounting program at Illinois State University. She is currently leading the Redbirds in numerous categories this season, including batting average (.353), walks (24), and doubles (15). A two-time All-MVC Second Team Selection, two-time MVC Scholar-Athlete Selection, and an All-MVC Defensive Team Selection, Olson has already etched her name in the Redbird Softball record book as she is currently 5th in program history in career doubles (41) and has a chance to break into the top five in program history in doubles for a single season.
