NORMAL — A second straight season with a Big Ten Conference opponent and a rematch of the biggest game in school history highlight the Illinois State football schedule for the coming season.
After opening the season on Sept. 3 at home against Valparaiso, the Redbirds travel to Evanston to face Northwestern on Sept. 10.
“I always like playing at home for the opening game. That’s nice,” ISU coach Brock Spack said. “And I like having six home games. We have a very good nonconference schedule that gets us ready for a very competitive league.”
