CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The Illinois State women's basketball team stumbled to its second straight loss Sunday, posting a season low point total in a 72-52 Missouri Valley Conference defeat to Northern Iowa at McLeod Center.
The Redbirds, who had defeated the Panthers 79-66 on Jan. 11 in Normal, dropped to 14-9 overall and 8-4 in the MVC.
UNI moved to 12-11 and 7-5 in the Valley.
ISU shot a miserable 30 percent from the field (17 of 56) and 25 percent from beyond the 3-point arc (5 of 20).
With standout guard Maya McDermott scoring just four points, the Panthers received 18 points from Taryn Wharton off the bench.
