For the second time this season, senior Nick King of the Bradley baseball team was honored with Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week accolades, announced by the league on Monday.
King helped lead the Braves to a 3-1 week – allowing two hits and one earned run in two starts and 10.2 innings pitched. Batters hit just .063 in the two Bradley victories as King also struck out 15 players.
In midweek action against Western Illinois, King pitched four scoreless innings during an 11-1 victory, allowing one hit with four strikeouts. The senior then returned to start the rubber game of a key Missouri Valley Conference series against Indiana State and again allow just the one hit (zero in the first six innings) and one earned run in 6.
