On Wednesday, the NCAA made it 100 percent by granting the Illinois State quarterback a sixth year of eligibility. That means Davis has two more seasons to play for the Redbirds and not one.
“It’s a real comfort for him and us that he has another year if he wants to exercise that year,” ISU coach Brock Spack said. “It’s good to put it in writing.”
Davis, who transferred to ISU last summer from Memphis, sat out the 2015 season with the Tigers as a redshirt and then missed the entire 2016 season with a knee injury.
