ST. LOUIS — Anthony Beane Jr. pronounced himself fit and ready to go for Friday’s quarterfinal game in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
The high-scoring Southern Illinois senior guard, a Normal Community High School graduate, suffered a concussion during the second half of last Saturday’s victory over Missouri State. Beane went through the NCAA’s mandatory concussion protocol earlier this week before resuming practice.
SIU faces Northern Iowa at 2:30 p.m. at the Scottrade Center.
“I don’t remember what happened at the end, but I’m doing good,” said Beane on Thursday. “I just have a couple headaches, but no concussion symptoms so I’m all right.
