ST. LOUIS – Illinois State pitcher Hannah Meshnick was solid for the Redbirds in Mexico last weekend at the Puerto Vallarta College Classic and for her efforts, she was named the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday by the league office.
Meshnick joins Southern Illinois' Jackie Lis (Player of the Week) and Emily Williams (Newcomer of the Week) and Belmont's Rylee Spindler (Freshman of the Week) as this week's conference award honorees.
The junior from Hortonville, Wisconsin, did not allow an earned run in 14.1 innings pitched for the Redbirds at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge last weekend, as she went 1-1 in two starts for ISU.
