MACON, GA – Freshman 2B Jackson Chatterton was 3-for-4 and his first career home run helped pull Bradley out of a big, early hole, but Mercer (8-9) used a 2-out, 2-run single in the eighth inning to pull out an 11-9 win Friday night in the opening game of this weekend's series at OrthoGeorgia Park.
The Braves (5-5) found themselves in a 6-0 hole after the first inning and still trailed 9-3 after two innings, before scratching their way back into the game.
Despite allowing three runs in a spotty second inning, freshman RHP Taylor Catton took control on the mound by holding the Bears scoreless from the third through the seventh innings.
