IOWA CITY, IA. - The Illinois State men's track and field squad hoisted the Larry Wieczorek Invite trophy, totaling 115 points over the two-day event. Top events that contributed to the victory were the shot put, the 200-meter dash, the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles.
"The men's sprinters and hurdlers looked very sharp this weekend," said Director of Track and Field/Cross country Jeff Bovee. "Our throwers had a big day in the shot put as well."
Senior thrower, Amiri Buchanan, posted a mark of 18.17 meters, tying his personal best and placing first in the meet.
